I can’t remember the last time I ordered pasta at a restaurant. I usually go the healthy route, and if it’s a cheat day I’m going for pizza and ice cream, but damn, did I make the right decision here.
My friend Rose’s craving for pasta turned into my craving for pasta. We scouted the web for the best, fresh, pasta in Brooklyn. Now, all of Brooklyn wouldn’t usually be an option but Chris took a car home from work so were about to live!
We debated between two restaurants and ended up going with the one that made homemade gnocchi. The restaurant is called Belli Osteria (resisting the urge to make a “get in my belli” pun) and it was worth every bite – literally, all of our plates were cleaned.
Fresh rolls with marinara dipping sauce. This sauce. We were fighting for it toward the end. It was nice to have something other than olive oil.
Pappardelle pasta with a short rib ragu. This was my plate and it was fantastic. I didn’t expect the pasta to be my favorite part of this dish, due to my love of short ribs, but it was cooked perfectly.
Fettuccini with wild mushrooms in a light cream sauce. Honestly, I was envious of everyones plate but this in particular looked real good. That pecorino Romano on top??? HELLO THERE. *drooling
I debated getting this one. Gnocchi in a tomato sauce with smoked prosciutto and pickled spicy peppers. If we go back I’ll definitely have to order this. Rose loved it, and the smokiness from the prosciutto smelled divine.
We were a happy group.
So, next time you’re in Brooklyn and you want pasta >>>> Belli.
Baby, go! Oh and Apparently their burgers are good too!
Have a cheat day, Em
