Hey Captain // Trend Watch

Military hat 2 .jpg

The military cap is the comeback of the season I’m infatuated with. They come in a verity of styles, structured or floppy determine the name (newsboy, Montreal, fiddler lieutenant, fisherman, so many names I’m actually confused, honestly) and if you haven’t picked one up yet, girl, you should.

I’ve tried to find the origins of this hat style as a leisurely accesory and what I’m lead back to is the British invasion of the 1960s down to the working class uniforms from the 1930s. The hat also came back into style in the 90s as the mod trend resurfaced. The hat’s silhouette ties together the retro late 1960s-70s trend we’re seeing so preeminently, which will continue into Fall. You can wear it with just about anything and you’re transformed.
